| The
first lady head vases appeared before World War
II, with their popularity reaching its heyday
during the 1950's when American florists used
them as incentives to promote the sale of flower
arrangements. It is estimated that more than 10,000
lady head vase designs were created, primarily
in ceramic or porcelain materials. By the 1960's,
there was scarcely a home in America which did
not contain a solitary lady head vase.
Today,
those orginal lady head vases are highly collectible,
with some vases worth over $1,000. Most prized
are those which feature the likeness of celebrities
or familiar characters. Vintage lady head vases
made from unusual materials, or by unique manufacturers
are also avidly collected.
In
addition to these original head vases, we feature
the "Cameo Girls" Lady Vase Collection.
The same six beauties have been created as they
may have appeared over two centuries ago, from
1809 to 2001.
