Charango is an Ecuadorian folk instrument
that evolved from the 16th century Spanish
vihuela de mano. It is smaller than a guitar
but has 10 strings seperated into 5 courses.
An armadillo shell is used for its soundbox.
This pair of exceptional sounding instruments
are made of South American hardwoods.
A
relative of the guitar and ukulele, it can
be played as a picking instrument and have
a charming harp-like quality. The charango
can also be played very strong and rhythmically
as a strumming instrument, for accompanying
singing or other instruments. Each charango
comes with a black soft case and shoulder
strap.
